About our School
Keys & Strings School of Music was established in Rush North County Dublin in January 2016 by Karolina and Gerry Hogan. This was closely followed by the opening of the second school in Skerries in October 2016. The school provides comprehensive music education to children and adults, in various instruments as well as singing and music theory. Keys & Strings Schools of Music is a proud member of the Society of Music Education Ireland, Kodaly Society of Ireland as well as the London College of Music and the Royal Irish Academy Teaching network.
Keys & Strings' mission statement is to deliver the highest quality of music education in a fun, and enthusiastic environment whilst developing musicianship and a love of music to all learners. We believe music plays a crucial part in children's and adults' development and the teaching methods should be suited to accommodate all types of learners including the ones with learning disabilities.
We are a local center for the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the London College of Music exams boards, and it is our aim to provide students with the best exam experience and satisfaction. Our students consistently achieve excellent results in their exams as well as competitions such as the Feis Ceoil and the Navan Choral Festival. In recent years, many of our students were accepted to study music in prestigious colleges such as the Trinty University or Technological University Dublin.
Keys & Strings teachers are qualified to the third level in music and are Garda vetted. Our teachers strongly believe in Lifelong Learning, and regularly participate in the training courses for music educators. We all share a genuine love and passion for music, which we are eager to pass on to our students.
We believe a sense of community is very important, therefore we regularly give our students the opportunity to take part in the school’s concerts and competitions organized in local venues as well as community events such as Christmas street fares and St Patrick’s parade.
